Baby Blessing

August 06, 2013

Riggins' baby blessing was on August 4. It was the most perfect day with the most perfect little guy. There were so many tears of happiness throughout the day as we were full of so many overwhelming emotions. I can't even explain how a new mother feels blessing her first child. Surreal. Amazing. Astounding. Wonderful. Blessed.
The list could go on with trying to find adjectives to describe this day. We are thankful for all of the support from family and friends to join in the celebration. This is just the beginning of the amazing experiences we will have together as we start in this wonderful journey of raising a family together.

I'm so grateful for the Priesthood and that Hunter is worthy to have that power. I loved watching all the worthy Priesthood holders walk reverently to the front of the chapel to join together in a circle surrounding our little boy. Hunter was flooded with emotions as he began the blessing. Tears were rolling down both of our faces before he even started speaking. He gave Riggs the most beautiful blessing and there are a few things that stood out to me.

-Blessed him to be able to communicate openly with his mom and dad about the things he is going through
-Blessed him with the tenacity to overcome trials and make difficult decisions
-Blessed him with health and strength, that his body will function properly
-Blessed him to be able to increase talents
-Blessed him to be baptized at the age of accountability
-Blessed him to be able to serve a full-time mission and be married in the temple
-Blessed him to have the love and desire to serve those in need.

There were so many other words said and I have it all written down so Riggins will one day be able to look back at his first blessing given by his father.
