Everything Shiny + Bright in 2014

I've decided my special theme for 2014 is CHALLENGE. I want to challenge myself to be more brave. To have more faith. To be a better wife. To be a better mom. To learn to sew. To learn how to cook better (+ prettier). To read more + educate myself more on parenting, the gospel, etc. To get out of our box + meet more people. Make more friends. Love more. Adventure lots. I want to challenge myself to do hard things. I love that. Do hard things. CHALLENGE. I'll write more specific resolutions in the next few posts.

I will treasure these photos for-ev-er. I can't even describe to you the feelings I get when I look at my people. My heart doubles in size, maybe even triples. I love photography so much because it freezes time. I can remember so many details of this photo shoot and the joy we had as we tried to get Riggins to smile. There is no joy greater than watching your child smile that gummy smile. We were squeaking his giraffe, Sophie + playing his favorite owl YouTube video. We were jumping up + down and making the silliest faces. Babies turn adults into complete nuts. I love how these photos will always help me remember that moment. My people make me the happiest.

The other night I had a dream that I wasn't married,  I didn't have a baby,  + I was still trying to graduate college. It was more like a nightmare. I woke up in a panic and reached over to feel Hunter's shoulder. Phew. I was so relieved. I can't even tell you how weird it felt thinking that I didn't marry Hunter and Riggins wasn't my baby boy. There was no joy in this dream of mine. Sure, if that dream was reality I could have gone down a different path and turned out to be an OK person. OK is not good enough. Hunter has helped me stretch myself to the limits and he challenges me daily to be better. I love my family.
