Magic

January 02, 2014

Magic. I firmly believe that Christmas holds a mysterious kind of magic. The lights. The spirit. Our Families. Togetherness. Santa may just be a legendary figure who has flying reindeer + eats your cookies + brings lots of presents down a chimney, but honestly, the magic is in the true story of the birth of Christ and the togetherness of family. It's the magic of Christmas that kept Hunter smiling through the day even though he was deathly sick. It's the magic of Christmas that made Riggins stop crying every. single. time. he saw twinkly lights (even at 3:00am when he was teething). It's the magic of Christmas that helps us want to reach out our hands and serve. It's the magic of Christmas that made me cry when Riggins sat on Santa's lap for the the first time. His eyes. I'll never forget the curiosity in Riggy's eyes that night. It's the magic of Christmas that melted my heart when I saw Riggins + dad together ooohhing and awwing over the decorations. It's the spirit of Christmas that brings people closer + makes lasting memories. I can't even describe how amazing Christmas is now that we have a baby. The spirit is amplified even more and I want to do everything in my power to make sure our little guy feels the spirit of Christmas. Riggins may not fully understand what Christmas is at 7-months-old, but honestly, I think he felt the magic.
